What happened to us?

Our nation, I'm talking about Iranian people, has been failing for more than 400 years. I am not trying to say who is guilty and who is not. I'm going to give a brief look at the history during the last 400 years. No need to say, we have been on a down-grade during this time, economically, politically, and culturally. And Iran has been subject to many changes, which mostly have been disasters, rather say.
Among those changes are:
Silk road which sometimes was also called culture road and was the way of trasition of goods and culture, turned into the drug road. Before that, this road which passed through Iran, was the best of trade for Asia and Europe. And half of the world's drug is shipped through Iran.
Also our economy's main things turned intor petroleum. Which requires no hard work. You just sell the oil and become rich. Consequently, this way of making money, brings its own culture. Don't work hard, fight over oil, for if you take those resources, you become rich for the rest of your life.
Also, our values changed in the society. For instance, a kis growing up hear this sort of speech alot in their life. "your need to be like a wolf", "In order to succeed you need to be thin about only yourself", "save yourself", "be smart, don't let anyone fool you". And ususally when people encounter with someone success there is 2 different reaction; "this dude is smart, he knows how to fool pepole and how take advantage of them, " or " he is nothing, if he didn't have connection he would not be able to the manager of that company, he is a snitch". The culture usually undervalues people's success or relates it to the values which are not true, such as, being smart, lying, taking advantage of people or friends.
The other thing which changed during last 400 years is Iran's size. The country's size reduced to almost half. Some went to Russia, some to Ottomon empire, some separated as today's Afghanistan. Now there remains only a little old baby, who looks sick and tired of war and politics and is looking for peace in the world. Iran has invaded other countries and also has been invaded by other coutnries. She sometimes took some land and sometimes lost parts of its lands, and she knows very well what is going to happen at the end. She truly know the true value of peace. That's why she has not invaded any country for more than 200 years, since Nadir Shah Afshar.

Culturally, other than our poems and poets, which are not stealable, everything immigrated to other countries. I was to Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York last month, and I went crazy when I saw the Iranian section. Well, I guess we can't keep our own stuff. Also, the movie 300 was produced insulting our culture, our history and ourselves, and the only thing we could do was sign a petition online, to say what? we don't like this movie. In this movie, we are gay, we are barbarians, we are weak, we don't know shit, and some other ways to be insulted, and we were happy. In responce we produced this Series, Mard-e-1000-Chehreh.
Last, but not least, is the gulf which Iran has been leaving with. I don't know how long Persian gulf has been persian Gulf or Khalij-e-Fars, but I am pretty sure it has not been Arabian Gulf for more than 100 years. After all those changes even this old gulf in the south does not want to stay with us. She wants to change her name to Arabian gulf. That's her right. She can go to any city hall in the United States and ask for the chang-of-name form, or in Iran she can go to any Sabt-e-Ahval office and ask for a new birth-certificate. Well, it is her right, maybe she does not want to be associated with a coutnry that is weak and can't defend herself. Maybe she wants to change her name to American Gulf, which is not too bad. United States has many troops in Oman, has taken Iraq and Saudi Arabia is her ally and also the world's super power. Actually it would be awsome.
Isn't it true that every Iranian wishes Iran being the world's power again, like Darius's era or Cyrus or many other dynasties. But, we all know that it is not goning to happen in 1 or 2 years. It takes time, but will eventually happen. Everyone of us can have influence on how fast we can reach that, I am not talking about being the super power, we don't need that. We need more basic things. Like food, and shelter. %60 of Iran's population lives under $2 a day.
-Now, let's think about how we can fill our stomach up. This is the most basic thing. We should find a way out of hunger. I'm not going to move the reader by talking about what hunger will lead to, like our girls being sold in our neighbor countries or many other deviances. Hunger and food are very obvious issues. By the way, let me point out to this genocide which happened in Iran in 1917 to 1919. Iran's population reduced to half in only 2 years, meaning from 20 million in 1917 to 10 million in 1919, meaning the 20th century biggest genocide, which is not even in United Nation's genocide list. Try to read this book, The Great Famine and Genocide in Persia, 1917-1919, which fully explains everything. This book had much difficulty getting published in the US or Canada.
-So, think about how can keep your people's stomaches full, so their mind would start working. Our main goal can't be providing nuclear energy for the country while, we are suffering from starvation.
This is my idealogy which is subject to change, with or without notice.
Good luck
